Planning is the key to long-term success especially when it comes to
managing your timber. A comprehensive management plan will help you plan your forest's
future with more certainty. The most important part to any management plan is the
appraisal. This includes a comprehensive inventory along with an accurate valuation of
current market conditions. Timber appraisals are often needed for estate planning, tax
purposes, and timber estimates when buying land.

EQUIPPED TO MEET YOUR NEEDS
We offer a full range of land and timber management services, including
forest management, a timber inventory and planning system, GPS/GIS technology, wildlife
and hunting lease management and timber security.
We work
diligently for full compliance with Best Management Practices (BMPs) and adhere to
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Standards.
FOREST MANAGEMENT
Our Registered
Foresters utilize the latest forest management technology and silvicultural treatments
such as herbaceous weed control, fertilization, thinning, prescribe burning, insect and
disease control, hardwood control and reforestation. These intermediate treatments benefit
your financial return through increased yields, reduced risks and enhanced property
values. All prescriptions are made on a management area basis, enabling us to produce
timber products that meet your specific objectives. |
Because it is important to have
accurate volume information about the timber to avoid improper harvesting or devaluing of the
timber, our foresters provide inventory updates as well as management maintenance on all
property. Periodic land inspections can be used for timber security and to assess wind
damage or impact from trespass, insect damage, beavers, or other casualties.
Active in several professional organizations, our foresters stay abreast of the
state-of-the-art forest management practices available today by attending numerous
continuing education seminars that focus on all aspects of timber management.
TIMBER INVENTORY AND
PLANNING PROGRAM
Our timber inventory and planning system provides
accurate timber volumes, predictions and harvest scheduling. We use timber growth/yield
models to predict timber volume, which is an integral part of determining financial
return.
Harvest scheduling is determined by integrating the growth and yield aspects of timber
management with the financial objectives and other factors provided by the client. This
information is then used to develop a harvest schedule, operations budget and a 10-year
forest management plan that will best meet the objectives of individual tracts.
FINANCIAL REPORTING
Tree farming can
be a satisfying adventure and a profitable hobby. This is true only if attention is paid
to management practices, marketing details, record-keeping, and forest taxation. We can
ensure that all of these are handled properly. In addition, we can help decrease your tax
burden by providing information to your Certified Public Accountant or qualified tax
preparer. |
